Why buy a scratching post or scratching pad?

Scratching is not bad behaviour, but a natural and instinctive need for cats that helps keep claws healthy, strong and properly worn.
During scratching, cats remove old claw layers and stretch their muscles and back at the same time.

In addition to physical care, scratching helps cats relieve stress and mark their territory.
Cats have scent glands in their paws, and by scratching they leave their scent behind, providing a sense of security and helping them feel at home.

A scratching post or scratching pad offers cats a safe and suitable place to satisfy their natural instincts, redirecting scratching behaviour away from furniture, carpets and wallpaper.
This helps protect home furnishings and maintain harmony between the cat and its owner.

Regular scratching supports a cat’s mental balance and physical health and is especially important for indoor cats as well as young and active cats.
